Abbey Wood, the very first Station within the alphabet. This station has recently been refurbished with it’s new platforms hidden behind wooden fences with a tint of purple showing just above the top. Yes… You can see the Purple Roundel sitting there… Waiting to be come the eliza- *Cough* Crossrail platforms.
Abbey wood is a lovely Station. It’s bright, Vibrant, new and modern. There is wood EVERYWHERE even within the main Ticket Hall. There are plenty of staff around to help as well as a ticket office. If you leave the Station, there are a few bus stops and a surprisingly amazing view as you leave. A glorious hill within the distance makes for a perfect photo opportunity. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to explore the local area. But from what I can see, it looks like a very nice place and area.
There are plenty of trains running per hour and both served by South Eastern and Thameslink, you can easily get to the centre of London or to Dartford. I can see this becoming even more popular once Crossrail opens as it will be a terminus Station.
